Hours and Location
Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, closed during the summer and during school breaks. Located on the third floor of Nazareth Hall (N3086-3088).
Overview
At UNWSP we are concerned about the whole person. This includes your emotional and psychological well-being in addition to your academic and spiritual development. The Counseling Services are available as a confidential resource for you during this important time of growth.
Services Available
- Individual counseling (sessions are limited, up to 15 sessions per academic year)
- Couples counseling and/or premarital counseling
- Support groups
- Learn more about yourself through various assessment tools.
Eligibility
- Traditional day school students
- PSEO students living in-residence
- If you are a PSEO student living in-residence and are under 18 years of age, you will need to have to have parental consent to obtain services. Appropriate forms will be provided when services are requested.
Common Reasons that Bring Students to Counseling:
Adjustment to College, Addictive tendencies, Anxiety, Depression & Suicidal Thoughts, Family of Origin, Grief & Loss, Past or present abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), Pre-Marital and Marriage Counseling, Preoccupation with food and/or body image, Self-Esteem & Identity, Self-mutilation, Relationship issues: communication struggles, conflict resolution, anger management, Sexual Assault and/or Rape, Sexual concerns, Spirituality.
