Per University policy, class attendance requirements are established by each professor and are included in the syllabus of the course. In registering for a class, the student agrees to such requirements (University of Northwestern 2014-15 Student Handbook, Section 2.1.5 Attendance– St. Paul’s Traditional Undergraduate & Undergraduate Pathways Catalog 2017-18, p. 27). Excused absences are granted for students participating in official University-sponsored events or for verified medical or other emergency. Competency-Based Assessments or other gradable events occurring during a student’s absence will be rescheduled by the professor. Students are responsible for making up work missed during excused absences (University of Northwestern 2014-15 Student Handbook, Section 2.1.6 Attendance-Excused Absences– St. Paul’s Traditional Undergraduate & Undergraduate Pathways Catalog 2017-18, p. 27).
