Northwestern complies with the Immigration Reform and Control Act which makes it necessary for you to bring verification for authorization to work in the United States with you on or before your first day of employment. You may not begin working until your paperwork has been completed. Human Resources staff is required to review original documents. Copies (paper or electronic) cannot be accepted. Common forms of documents for I-9 verification include an unexpired US Passport; OR Driver’s license and Social Security card; OR Driver’s license and certified copy of birth certificate. A full list of acceptable documents can be found in the Student Employment office (Riley 1600) or online at http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-9.pdf. |

Balancing your studies, work and other activities will be challenging, yet rewarding. Typically, students work approximately 8 to 15 hours per week. It is strongly recommended that student employees limit their work to no more than 29 hours per week when classes are in session. Students may not work more than 40 hours per week when classes are not in session. |
