Credits earned through achieving acceptable scores on DSST examinations will be accepted.

Individual departments/schools and/or colleges may specify the exact courses required to fill requirements.

Application of DSST credits is at the discretion of the department/school under which the course falls, or of the Registrar if the credit falls under no specific department/school as defined by University of Northwestern. Specific information, including courses and requirements, may be found on the Northwestern student portal (i.e., theROCK>Student Academics>Traditional Undergraduate>Transfer Credit/Credit by Exam) and MyUNW and under the Registrar’s Office on the public web site.

A student may receive a maximum of 32 semester credits by way of DSST or other standardized examinations.
