The School of Nursing’s Nursing Student Handbook provides information and policies for all students admitted to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) program at University of Northwestern - St. Paul (UNWSP). The material in the handbook is designed to assist nursing students to understand the curriculum, understand their responsibilities as nursing students, and comply with the policies and procedures of the nursing program.
The policies and procedures in the Nursing Student Handbook expand on policies appearing in the University of Northwestern Student Handbookand the University of Northwestern – -St. Paul Traditional Undergraduate & Dual Enrollment Catalog 20232024-20242025. Any discrepancies related to formatting or content should be verified with the School of Nursing.
The Nursing Student Handbook provides general information about the BSN program at University of Northwestern - St. Paul and will be referred to throughout the program. Each student is responsible for knowing, understanding, and following the information in the handbook.
Nothing contained herein shall be deemed a limitation upon the expressed or implied powers or duties of the Board of Trustees, the administration, or faculty of University of Northwestern - St. Paul. Because policies and procedures are continuously subject to change by external and internal sources, it is the intent of the School of Nursing to review and modify these policies and practices as necessary.
The right is reserved to change any of the rules and regulations of the university at any time, including those relating to admission, instruction, and graduation. The right to withdraw curricula and specific courses, alter course content, change the calendar, and to impose or increase fees similarly is reserved. All such changes are effective at such times as the proper authorities determine and may apply not only to prospective students, but also to those already enrolled in the university.
Information in the handbook is as complete and accurate as possible at the time of printing. Any changes in policies and practices and/or updates to the handbook made during the calendar year will be given in writing (electronically) to each student. The electronic version of the Nursing Student Handbook supersedes all print versions of publications.
