Overview

The Data Analytics virtual lab has been created to provide you with a pre-configured environment that has the required software installed and ready for you to use.  Each student will receive a dedicated Windows 10 virtual machine that will be available for the duration of the course, including any files or settings saved in the virtual machine.  The virtual machines will be erased at the end of each term, following commencement.

A web browser provides the simplest method to access the virtual lab and doesn't require any software to be installed on your computer.

  1. Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or Internet Explorer)
  2. Browse to https://vws.unwsp.edu
  3. Click "VMWare Horizon HTML Access"
  4. Login with your account (don't forget to select the correct domain: STU to students, EMP for employees)
  5. Click "BUS Windows Desktop" to launch your virtual machine

Note: The first time you login you will see a black window appear, this is the Tableau activation screen -  do not close this window, it will close automatically once it completes in about 30 seconds.  If you encounter any network or firewall related prompts in your Amazon Workspace, it's ok to click OK or Accept.
