Can I use a Netbook or Chromebook for my Northwestern courses?
Netbooks or Chromebooks will not meet your needs as a student or course-work requirements for your area of study. Some aspects of your courses are not compatible with the capabilities of a Netbook or Chromebook.

What is Moodle?
Moodle is Northwestern's Learning Management System (LMS). Moodle enables instructors and students to work collaboratively online.
How do I access Moodle?
Moodle can be accessed either by logging into to theRock, and clicking Moodle in the left navigation menu or by going directly to Northwestern's Moodle site.

What is Office 365?
University of Northwestern is pleased to provide Microsoft Office to every student free of charge. This means the latest version of the full Office productivity suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and more, are available to use to help you prepare and be successful in your classes. You also have access to Office 365, which allows you online access to Microsoft applications over the Internet. As long as you’re a student at Northwestern and the program continues, you’ll be able to use this software for free.
Is there a cost to Office 365?
No, there is no cost.
How do I download Office 365?
You can install Office 365 on up to 5 devices. Visit the How to install Office 365 page for more information.

How do I forward my UNW email to my personal email?
- Go to TheROCK
Ui button color blue icon link title TheROCK url https://therock.unwsp.edu - Click on Email in the lower left navigation menu on the side of the page
- Click on the settings icon in the upper right side of the page
- Click on "Mail" towards the bottom right
- A Mail tree will be opened, click on "Forwarding" under Accounts
- Select "Start Forwarding," add the email you would like it to be forwarded to, and check the box that says “keep a copy of forwarded messages” as this will ensure you will not lose the messages if something happens to the account they are being forwarded to.
- Click Save to finalize
