Information Literacy Core Outcome - November 17, 2021

General Information:

How information literate are your students? Are they inclined to find and use the best sources of information for their assignments? Can they search for information efficiently and effectively? Are they skilled at critically evaluating information and its sources? Do they use information ethically by correctly documenting sources and avoiding plagiarism? Although information literacy (IL) is important for success in college and beyond, research indicates that students lack these crucial skills. This workshop will explore what information literacy is, how it is taught and assessed at Northwestern, and how faculty and librarians can work together to develop students’ IL skills across the curriculum.
