Facilitating Interaction as Pedagogy that welcomes diverse perspectives  - March 4, 2019 (CQ #7)

General Information:

Please join us for the seventh session in the 2018-2019 CQ Series called Pedagogy For Engaging Diversity and Developing Intercultural Competence.

Are we encouraging transformative conversations or are we shutting down conversation for the sake of keeping the peace?

In this session we will be asked to consider the role we play in conversation. We will gain new insights into how we might “hear” one another in conflict, and we will gain new insights into the role of the facilitator (our role) when conversations are difficult.

Come to listen, come to learn, come to join the conversation in this hour-long session about pedagogy that welcomes diverse perspectives!

Recommended resources:

  • Cleveland, C. (2013). Disunity in Christ: Uncovering the hidden forces that keep us apart.
  • Patterson, K., Grenny, J., McMillan, R. & Switzler, A. (2012). Crucial conversations: Tools for talking when stakes are high.
