Student grades and class information maintained in grade books, computer files or disks, or by electronic means (e.g., Blackboard), etc., are the property of University of Northwestern--including grade books, etc., used by part-time faculty.  Grade books, etc., must be maintained by the faculty member for at least 5 years beyond completion of the course(s) listed in their grade book, etc.,  Any grade book(s) which only contains information that is more than 5 years old may be properly destroyed by the faculty member.  If the faculty member departs from Northwestern, the faculty member must submit any grade book(s), etc., which contains information less than 5 years old, to the Registrar's office.
