Students admitted to the BSN program at University of Northwestern - St. Paul must comply with CPR certification requirements before acceptance into the program and CPR certification must be maintained throughout the program course of studymust provide current BLS certification upon admission and maintain certification until program completion. Specifically, students are required to provide documentation of valid, current CPR, BLS certification from The American Heart Association’s CPR (Health Care Provider) orHeart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS), or American Red Cross (Professional Rescuer)BLS for Healthcare. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the student being dropped from the nursing course(s)unable to attend clinical and receive a clinical “Unsatisfactory” or “U” for each clinical day that is missed. If a student misses clinical due to lack of this documentation, a clinical absence must be made up with the student accountable for costs.
