Access the Lab
Download and Install the Horizon Client
The Horizon Client provides remote access to the physical computers in the computer lab. The client also allows copy/paste and file copies between your personal computer and the computer lab.
- First, follow these instructions to install and configure the Horizon Client on your computer:
Login and Access the Lab
- Open the Horizon Client on your computer
- Login with your account (don't forget to select the correct domain: STU for students, EMP for employees)Click "Engineering account
After authenticating, you should be brought to the Horizon landing page.
- Click "Simulation Lab Access" to connect to one of the computer lab machines
- NOTE: There are two groups of lab computers
- Simulation Lab Access: Computers that are available 24/7 for remote access
- Simulation Lab Access - Scheduled: Computers that are available for remote access outside of scheduled classes in the Simulation Lab. Please ask your professor for the scheduled availability for this group.
Saving Data
Note: You will be automatically connected to one of the machines in the computer lab, you may not be connected to the same machine twice.
Be sure to save your work to the network drive available in the lab, or to OneDrive before you disconnect or log off of the lab machine.
Logging Out
To prevent issues with physical access to the computers you must Sign Out using the Windows Sign Out button and not the red X in the top right corner. To Sign Out, hit the windows key, click on the UNW logo, and then click Sign Out.
Note: There may be a disconnect button, please do not click Disconnect and click Sign Out instead.
