COVID
NumberNumbers Remain Steady
Over the past several weeks, the number of COVID cases on campus have has remained "steady" with approximately one dozen students in isolation and two dozen students in quarantine. The following graphic represents the ups and downs of the our cases during fall semester so thus far (click on the image for a larger view).
- The blue line represents the number of new positive COVID-19 cases in that reporting period.
- The orange line represents the total number of students in isolation (those who are confirmed positive for COVID-19).
- The gray line represents the total number of students in quarantine (because they were a close contact).
Our Health Services, Student Life, and Academic Achievement teams have continued to work hard to support students who are not able to attend class or other activities in person. Thank you also for supporting students who are unable to come to class due to isolation or quarantine.
As outlined in our Faculty Guidance FAQs, it continues to be essential that we follow our COVID-19 protocols as a community and wear face coverings where they are required. Please remember the following:
Many classrooms are not set up for 6’ distancing, so all students need to mask throughout the entire class.
Any movement by students, such as pair work or group work, will require masks.
If you move among students or cannot maintain 6' distancing, you need to wear a mask; your modeling appropriate protocol is critical for our students.
Please remind students to wear masks if they are not distanced.
Academic Affairs has received multiple concerns from students who are uncomfortable that students are not 6’ distanced with no reminders provided to wear their masks.
- Whenever it is difficult to maintain 6’ distancing, students should be masked.
Taking Care of Yourself and Students
fdas message from Health Services fdsafdsOn Thursday this week, a message from Health Services was sent to students reminding them to take care of themselves and to get tested for COVID-19 if they have any cold-like symptoms. As a reminder, if students are unwell, they are encouraged to not attend class in person. If you ever have concerns about your students, or notice students who need additional assistance, please contact Joint Intervention.
Remember, as a university employee, you are also welcome to visit our Health Services office if you would like to get tested for COVID-19. Please contact their office to ensure their team is available. As the days ahead will be getting colder and darker, please be mindful of your wellbeing and that of your students. Be intentional about taking steps to ensure your mind, body, and soul are cared for.

How's Your Mood?
I was on a call in an all-day meeting with Credo today, and one of the questions that was asked by the presenter was "What is the mood of your colleagues?" That was a very intriguing and penetrating question. I could think of various responses, but I'd like to prefer to hear from you directly. Let's frame this week's request open invitation for feedback to you with that question in mind. Along with any other thoughts you would like to share, please let me know through this anonymous form both what your mood is and how would you describe the mood of your colleagues through this anonymous form (feel free to include your name if you'd like). We I always appreciate hearing your thoughts. Many blessings, Colleagues!
