ChapelChapel is an opportunity for all of Northwestern to daily gather to share in an experience of worship that engages with creative and diverse content that will encourage, challenge, and invite us to a life of faith, hope, love, and service. Every chapel is planned with the following values in mind:
1. Christ Centered. We seek to glorify and experience God through content that is rooted in Christ.
2. Transformation-Focused. We seek development that encourages a genuine, transformative journey.
3. Community-Oriented. We seek to understand, love, and journey together as part of the body of Christ.
Chapel will be offered daily and is integrated into the class schedule. Below is our altered chapel schedule for Quad 1.

Other Important Updates to our Altered Chapel Schedule for Quad 1
- Attendance will still be required and expected. However attendance will not be measured for Quad 1 and Quad 2. In order to avoid the inevitable congestion at the exits in Knight Hall, you will not need to scan out of a Knight Hall Chapel. This policy adaptation will be evaluated during quad 1 with the intent to return to measuring attendance as soon as possible.
- Since not everyone can gather in KPH, rotating groups have been developed and are designated according to living spaces. Rotating groups will be scheduled to attend specific Monday, Wednesday, or Friday chapels. The specific schedule is listed below and will be clearly communicated on a weekly basis.
- All chapels from Knight Hall will be live streamed to enable all students to participate. This combination of both in-person and virtual chapel experiences being offered this fall will also enable students who need to self-quarantine or isolate to maintain their connection to the chapel experience.
- We will continue to provide as many small in-person alternative chapels and SDC events as possible throughout the fall semester so that students have regular in person opportunities to gathertogether.
Worship Arts at UNW exists to give voice to all forms of worship expressions to reflect the diverse and vibrant culture of our student body. There are many ways you can be involved!
Worship Arts Collective auditions occur annually at the beginning of each fall semester. Students must complete the Worship Arts Music Audition Form and complete an in-person live audition. Band and vocal auditions are held at separate times.
Band auditionees will be given 1 worship song to prepare and will audition with a full live band, click, and tracks. Please bring your own in-ears or headphones for the audition. Vocalists will sing one of two provided worship songs and can choose to either accompany themselves on acoustic guitar or piano, or be accompanied by a worship arts collective member. Vocalists will also be asked to sing harmony and complete a vocal range check.
2020-2021 music team auditions are now closed. If you are interested in auditioning to be a part of musical worship in the Worship Arts Collective for the 2021-2022 school year, please check back here for more details and to complete the Worship Arts Music Audition Form available beginning in August 2021.
If you are interested in being a part of the Worship Arts Collective in an area outside of worship music (dancing, poetry, spoken word, visual art, original music, ASL etc.), we would love to connect with you!
Complete the Worship Through the Arts Interest Form or email worshiparts@unwsp.edu to share your area of worship with us.
