What is a degree audit?

A degree audit is an online degree evaluation tool designed to assist you in monitoring your progress toward completion of your academic program.

A degree audit will show you met and unmet requirements for your desired major based on courses taken, transferred in or in progress.

Who do I contact if I believe my information is incorrect or if I still have questions?

If any area requirements indicate NOT MET and they should be met, you should contact your academic advisor (all students) or the Registrar's Office (Traditional undergraduates).

Can I email my advisor from my degree audit?

Yes, you can email your advisor from your degree audit by clicking on the advisor’s name.

Can I register for classes from my degree audit?

No.  Your degree audit is a snapshot of courses that are in-progress and in academic history.  Registration will continue to be completed online through theROCK.

Are my grades visible from my degree audit?

Yes.  Once final grades have been processed they will be viewable in your degree audit.  Courses that are in-progress will be listed with an IP grade until final grades are processed.  You can also view your final grades online through theROCK.

Can I see which classes I have left to fulfill my degree requirements?

Yes, look for unchecked boxes to identify requirements that you still need to complete.  You can also choose the Registration Checklist format from your degree audit, which will list all courses that still need to be completed for your academic program.

How is a degree audit different than my transcript?

A degree audit is NOT your academic transcript nor is it an official notification of completion of degree requirements.  Your transcript is your official university record, whereas, your degree audit is a tool for determining completion of degree requirements.

Can I see a list of all of the classes I’ve taken?

Yes.  You can click on Class History at the top middle of your degree audit to see a list of courses you have taken by term.  Remember, this is NOT your official transcript

Does my degree audit include my transfer credits?

Yes.

Can I save or print my degree audit?

You can save and print your degree audit by clicking on the “Print/Save as PDF” button at the top of your degree audit.

When should I run a degree audit?

You are welcome to run a degree audit at any time. The following are a few suggested times:

  • Before you meet with your advisor to discuss registration for an upcoming semester.
  • After you register to ensure that the courses you selected are being applied to your degree requirements appropriately.
  • After your grades for each semester are posted.
  • Any time you make a change to your schedule or major.
  • Before you apply for graduation.

How can I update information on my degree audit?

You cannot update information directly on your degree audit. Information on your degree audit is for viewing purposes only.

My advisor told me that a course I took will be substituted for a requirement.  Why doesn’t this information appear on my degree audit?

If an approved substitution is not showing on your degree audit, please contact the Registrar's Office (Traditional undergraduates) or the Student Academic Services Office (FOCUS/Graduate).

I’ve repeated a course.  How does this appear on my degree audit?

If you successfully repeat a course, only your last attempt counts toward degree requirements.  The earlier attempt(s) will be placed in the “Insufficient” category at the bottom of your audit.  The courses in this area do not count toward your total credits, and they cannot be used to fulfill requirements.

I’ve seen the ‘@’ symbol in several places on my audit.  What does this mean?

This is a wild card in your degree audit.  If the @ sign appears with course numbers after it (i.e. @1001:2999), it means that you can take any subject area with that level (a 1000-2000 level course from any subject area).  If it appears after a subject prefix (i.e. BIB @), it means that you can take any course with that subject prefix (any course in BIB).

How current will my information be in my degree audit?

The information in your degree audit is refreshed each night. Any changes made today (e.g., grade changes, holds, or classes added/dropped) will be seen in your audit tomorrow.

I'm a double major. Only one major appears on the audit. How can I check the requirements for my other major?

If you are pursuing two majors under the same degree (e.g., BS Psychology and Criminal Justice), both majors will be noted in the student information area at the top of the audit and will appear in the body of the audit in the order noted at the top of the audit. If you are pursuing two different degrees/majors (e.g., BA Philosophy and BS Criminal Justice), you will use the drop down arrow on the degree box at the top of the audit to select the audit you wish to review.

What does it mean if I have classes listed under the Insufficient Block?

Courses that you have failed, repeated, audited or withdrawn from will appear in the Insufficient Block.

What are the GPA Calculators?

The Graduation Calculator will show what average you will need in your remaining credits to graduate with your desired GPA.

The Term Calculator will show an estimation of your cumulative GPA based on what grade you think you will receive for the current term.

The Advice Calculator will show various credit and grade scenarios in order for you to achieve your desired cumulative GPA.

What is the “What If” feature?

This feature allows you to see how coursework taken, or in registration, can be used to meet requirements of a different major that you may be considering. This is useful to students who are considering making changes to their academic program.

If I use the “What If” feature, does this mean that I have changed my major?

No.  The “What If” feature is for information purposes only.  You will see the header, What If Audit, displayed at the top right hand corner of the evaluation whenever an evaluation is run on a “What If” scenario.

Can I save a “What If” evaluation?

Yes, but only as a pdf.  You may print/save as pdf a “What-If” evaluation by clicking the “Print/Save PDF” button AFTER you have chosen a major/minor/concentration and BEFORE clicking “Process What-If”.
