Arrange with the UNWSP Mail Center to have campus mail forwarded during the IST experience to either your home or international address.
Provide your travel information, international mailing address, and phone number to the DTE.
Make sure your visa paperwork is in order for entry into your host country (if required).
Make sure to confirm the terminal, baggage weight limits and packing restrictions.
Confirm flight/travel insurance.
Bring names, addresses, and contact information of your host school, lodging, host family (if applicable), and placement dates for entry into the country when you arrive at customs.
Ask your host school if a letter of invitation confirming your purpose for travel is required for entry. If so, obtain a letter of invitation.
Confirm plans with your host school and/or family for transportation from the airport once you arrive.
Leave copies of passport, visa, and other important documents with family in a separate, secure place from the originals. Candidates should make copies of important documents that are kept separate from the original documents.
When your travel plans are determined, enter them in the U.S. Dept. of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). See 4.3 for details.
