Completion Tracking

Description

Completion Tracking allows students to easily keep track of what they have done already and what yet needs completing in a Moodle course. A green checkmark appears to the right of an item on the course front page when completion conditions have been met. Each student's view is personal to their own completion status. Completion does not factor into grading, but can provide useful information to both students themselves and the instructor.

By default, completion tracking is manual, meaning students must click the box to mark it off. Completion tracking is far more useful when set to automatic with specific conditions (such as viewing a resource, submitting an assignment, posting a certain number of times in a discussion, or completing or achieving a target score on a quiz).

Checkbox is solid for manual completion tracking and dashed for automatic

Completion tracking of either type pairs very well with the Completion Progress bar in the right sidebar to help students clearly monitor their progress.
