Supporting Students
Now that the semester is well underway, please be alert to any students who may be showing signs that challenges are impacting their academic performance. If you have any concerns about your students, in addition to reaching out to them yourself, please also contact Joint Intervention using the link on the top of Moodle courses or on the home page of theROCK as shown below. Thank you for being proactive in helping our students succeed!

Remember FERPA When Sharing Course Videos
As a reminder, any videos from classes that are recorded are protected by FERPA and must not be shared beyond the class participants (i.e., the videos cannot be made public). This guidance applies to all faculty this semester in alignment with UNW's Lecture Capture guidelines. You can reference this video on how to create and share a video appropriately with your class while upholding FERPA rights.
New Director of Core Curriculum
I am pleased to announce that Jessica Moore, professor and reference/instruction librarian in the Berntsen Library, has accepted the position of Director of Core Curriculum. Jessica's involvement in the Core Curriculum Revision Committee was integral to the development of the new Core Curriculum. Her knowledge, skills, and experience will serve UNW well as she takes on the responsibility of leading, overseeing, and coordinating the core curriculum. Please join me in congratulating Jessica on her new director role!
Networking Grants Available
The CCCU Networking Grants for Christian Scholars seeks "to encourage collaborative scholarship among faculty members serving at CCCU member institutions and to connect these scholars with broader networks. The goal of the program is to support high quality scholarship that brings Christian voices into contemporary academic conversations." If you are interested in pursuing these opportunities, please review the information on the CCCU website and work with your Dean on next steps in the process. Applications will be accepted until June 3, 2022.
