Switch from Duo to Microsoft

During the migration from Duo to Microsoft multifactor authentication (MFA), some users would prefer to switch before their account migration date. Whether you are planning vacation time, preparing for classes, or want to take advantage of new methods like Passwordless, all are welcome to switch their accounts ahead of schedule. Notifications for enrollment will be sent 2 weeks in advance.

  1. Begin by going to MyAccess portal: https://myaccess.microsoft.com/@unweagles.onmicrosoft.com#/access-packages

  2. Sign in with your UNW account if needed.

  3. You may be prompted to provide feedback; you may cancel this prompt.

  4. On the Access Packages tab, you will see the package titled Switch to Microsoft MFA. Click the Request button.

  5. On the confirmation screen, choose Continue.

  6. There is no need to enter a business justification, as it will be approved automatically. Choose Submit request.

  7. You will receive an email confirmation that your request has been granted. There is no action needed and you may delete the email.

    1. From: mssecurity-noreply@microsoft.com

  8. The next time you login, you will be prompted to setup Microsoft Authenticator if you haven’t already. Your account will no longer use Duo.

    1. To perform the setup, you can open an Incognito (InPrivate) browser window and go to my.unw.edu to force a sign in prompt.

    2. Alternatively, sign out and sign in again.
