Enable Forum Tracking

Overview

Moodle forum participants can see a label in the course page near forums showing the number of unread posts since the last time they entered the forum discussions. This article describes how to enable the unread post labels for all of the user's forums. 

  • Note that if a user is subscribed to a forum, all its postings are considered read and no unread posts will be indicated.



Enabling Forum Tracking

  1. In any Moodle page, click the dropdown for your identity in the upper right, and choose Preferences.



  2. Click Forum preferences.



  3. Under Forum tracking, choose Yes: highlight new posts for me. Click Save changes.





Print

To print this article, click on Tools on the right, and choose Export to PDF.  Open the PDF to print.
