Overview

Standard discussion forums use the icon seen below.

Post

  1. Open the discussion forum that you would like to post in.  Click Add a new discussion topic.



  2. Create a title in the Subject text box and compose your post in the Message text box.



    Click the expand button to show more editing options.




  3. To add a file, click the manage files button. 

         

  1. If an attachment is needed, you can either drag and drop the file into the designated area, or click the add button to select the file from your computer. 



    1. If you use the add button, click Choose File in the File Picker menu.



    2. Select the file from your computer, then click Upload this file.

  2. When you are finished, click Post to forum. 

Reply

  1. When you open a forum, you will see all of the posts from your classmates. Click on a discussion title to open one of your classmate's post.



  2. Click Reply to add comments to your classmate's post.



  3. Compose your reply in the Message text editor, and click Post to forum at the bottom of the page.



Single Threaded Discussion Forums

Sometimes instructors will provide an initial post and ask students to reply. For this type of forum, click Reply, and compose your post following the same instructions above. 



Print

To print this article, click on Tools on the right, and choose Export to PDF.  Open the PDF to print.
