13.2 Tutoring

Nursing faculty and assigned faculty tutors provide many means to help students succeed in nursing classes. Faculty may offer review sessions, critical thinking workshops, and/or study sessions. Additionally, the NLC lab coordinator is available to assist you in some clinical tutoring; please feel free to ask their assistance.

If the student desires more assistance, he/she is encouraged to seek out tutoring often provided by other departments on campus. The Passport to Success Program connects students to multifaceted strategies through academic coaching and mentoring that support long-term academic success. Students enrolled in the Passport to Success Program receive individualized and comprehensive support, referred to as wraparound services.

The Passport to Success Program also provides students with personalized strategies for organization, prioritization, and time management, as well as, opportunities for community and leadership development. Contact CAPSS office coordinator at 651-628-3241 for more information. (University of Northwestern International Student Orientation Handbook, The U.S. Academic System - see the Passport to Success Program (PSP) under "Study Skills").
