Overview

VoiceThread is an interactive alternative to text-based online discussions. The cloud-based application gives you the ability to discuss, dialogue, debate, and disseminate information using your voice, video, graphics, and text. This article explains how to create a new VoiceThread, make comments, and share your VoiceThread link.

Logging into VoiceThread

  • VoiceThread is fully supported in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Safari or Microsoft Edge can be used to view, but not record a VoiceThread. Internet Explorer does not support HTML5, and there cannot be used with VoiceThread.
  • As a student at Northwestern, you already have an account created at unwsp.voicethread.com and you can use your normal log-in credentials for theROCK. Do not create an account through the public-facing www.voicethread.com because doing so will cause problems when you try to share your presentation or view other presentations.
  • If you are required to use VoiceThread in your course, you may be able to access your account through the link provided on your course site if it has been configured that way.

Creating a new VoiceThread Overview

If you experience any formatting issues (strange fonts or layout) after uploading a PowerPoint or other presentation file, try converting the original presentation to a PDF and then upload it again.
