TheImproving Your Online Course (IYOC) workshop through Quality Matters focuses primarily on course design. In this 4-week IYOC, you will learn good design practices based on the Quality Matters rubric and review your own course to develop a Course Improvement Plan. You will cover areas such as aligning your course to your outcomes, communicating with your students, and engaging your students through your course. This foundational content can easily be transferred to any class you teach, whether online, blended, or face-to-face.
TheBest Practices in Online Teaching (BPOT) course focuses on online teaching and course delivery. This 4-week course covers developing presence online, engaging students, universal design, spiritual formation at a distance, and forming community. Participants will experience being an online student and creating online content. While course design is not the main focus, a few design items will be covered. No prerequisite is required for this course.
Come and learn how to use the lecture capture equipment in all Northwestern classrooms. This will be a hands-on session that will allow you the opportunity to try out the equipment and answer any questions that come up.
We are currently handling lecture capture training on an appointment basis. If you would like assistance with how to use the lecture capture training, please see Hybrid Teaching using Zoom. If you still have questions, please contact Mark Henderson in Academic Technology or Nathan Lentfer in the Online Learning Office.
