All candidates applying for a first-time Minnesota teaching license (Tier 3) must take the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) adopted content area test(s) applicable to their licensure field. It is recommended that students successfully pass the MTLE Content Area Exam(s) before or during student teaching. A complete listing of Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examination (MTLE) requirements may be found at the MTLE website http://www.mtle.nesinc.com. All fields require at least two subtests.
