Campus Alert Level Change to Green
Earlier today, Dr. Cureton shared the wonderful good news that we have lowered adjusted our campus alert level to green. This is a blessing that you have all had a part in making into a reality, given the number of low cases on campus and in accordance with our Resurgence Plan. Thank you for your faithfulness to in upholding the mitigation protocols that help reduce the spread of COVID-19. We need want to celebrate this and also remember that we are not out of the woods yet. As we conclude Quad 3 and head into spring break, please continue to practice the measures that we milestone, while remembering our need to continue honoring Minnesota Department of Health guidelines and our campus protocols.
At the end of Dr. Cureton's message, he encouraged the Northwestern community to uphold our mitigation efforts, both on and off campus. I want to add my encouragement for you to continue practicing the measures we know are making an impact: wearing a face coveringcoverings, keeping physically distanced, washing hands regularly, and staying home if you are unwell. Doing so will give us the best chance of finishing the semester strong! Similarly, Anna Mukaria, our Director of COVID Operations, crafted sent a message to students encouraging today encouraging them to not be "lax" as they head into the spring break.
Budget Update
I'm not sure if you have anything this week - if not this can be removed
Along with you, I look forward to finishing the semester strong by God's grace!
Introducing Career Communities
Did you know that more than 70% of jobs are found through networking? Because networking with peers and industry professionals is so important for career success, Career Development built Career Communities - a private database of more than 300 alumni and industry professionals who have volunteered to help students with 12 different activities such as career advice, informational interviews, resume review, and more. Equitable access to this resource is available to our students and alumni through the Career Development portal on theRock. We have 12 communities, including Business & Entrepreneurship, Health Care & Science, and Creative & Performing Arts. For best results, select one activity and one community group; then click the “View Members” button to return a listing of matching community members with a photo, name, title, employer, LinkedIn, and email, and an indicator for UNW alumni (about 85% are alumni). This tool is an ideal starting point for students doing informational interviews, exploring desirable companies, and building a professional network.
You can view this flyer or check out the Career Communities website to learn more. Please encourage your students to use this tool, and if you have suggestions of members to invite to join the Career Communities, feel free to email Sara Ring.
