UNW maintains an annual subscription for a campus-wide license (41224500) to access most MathWorks products, including MATLAB, Simulink, and SimScape. The subscription includes access to MATLAB online and the MATLAB Mobile application.

Instructions:

  • Download the matlab_R2019b_win64 from mathworks or the S Drive and run the installer
  • Enter the File Installation Key: 25531-31528-64256-26989-34076
  • Follow the installer until the license path is requested
  • Open file explorer separate from the installer and navigate to the matlab R2019b folder (C: Program Files > Matlab > R2019b)
    1. create a notepad file enter:
      SERVER 10.80.0.36 005056824676 27000
      USE_SERVER
    2. save as network.lic
    3. return to the installer
  • Navigate to the same folder and select the license file you just created.
    • Continue to click through the install process until finish

    Client Installation

    1. Goto www.mathworks.com and create a free account using your unwsp.edu email address.

    2. Login into your account, and go to https://www.mathworks.com/downloads/

    3. Double-click the downloaded installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

    The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R20XXy

    4. If there is a license issue when running MATLAB, login to your account, click on ‘link license’ in your account pull-down menu, and use the number 41224500.

    Besides the MATLAB installation, an online version may be accessed at https://matlab.mathworks.com,

    and there is a mobile app version of MATLAB available at https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab-mobile.html.
