We do intend to use it – at least for research projects. It was just renewed within the month. It may have primarily been installed along the row used for longer simulations, but I’m not sure.

On Server:

  1. On the server: download license manager from https://support.ansys.com/AnsysCustomerPortal/en_us/Downloads/Current+Release under tools. (credentials in password safe) 
    1. Currently running ANSYS License Manager Release 2020 R2 - should run all license keys for a while
  2. Download license keys (there should be two types apache & hybrid from here on use hybrid) and save under mrhyre\Documents\ANSYS License Keys\
  3. Launch ANSYS License Manager or Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility (then navigate to the license manager from here) as administrator
    1. Under License File Options select Add a license file browse to saved file and select to install

On Client:

  1. Click on the download link at the bottom and download the three ANSYS iso files to your computer.
    1. Right click and open as a new tab so you still have access to these instructions
  2. Launch the first file and follow the prompts
  3. Navigate to C: > Program Files > ANSYS Inc > Shared Files > Licensing
  4. Open ansyslmd
  5. Change text to read:
    SERVER=1055@10.80.0.361055@<use-server-IP-from-word-document-on-sharepoint-site>
    ANSYSLI_SERVERS=2325@10.80.0.362325@<use-server-IP-from-word-document-on-sharepoint-site>
