On Server:
- On the server: download license manager from https://support.ansys.com/AnsysCustomerPortal/en_us/Downloads/Current+Release under tools. (credentials in password safe)
- Currently running ANSYS License Manager Release 2020 R2 - should run all license keys for a while
- Download license keys (there should be two types apache & hybrid from here on use hybrid) and save under mrhyre\Documents\ANSYS License Keys\
- Launch ANSYS License Manager or Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility (then navigate to the license manager from here) as administrator
- Under License File Options select Add a license file browse to saved file and select to install
On Client:
- Click on the download link at the bottom and download the three ANSYS iso files to your computer.
- Right click and open as a new tab so you still have access to these instructions
- Launch the first file and follow the prompts
- Navigate to C: > Program Files > ANSYS Inc > Shared Files > Licensing
- Open ansyslmd
- Change text to read:
SERVER=1055@<use-server-IP-from-word-document-on-sharepoint-site>
ANSYSLI_SERVERS=2325@<use-server-IP-from-word-document-on-sharepoint-site>
Notes: Installed in RS108 Simulation Lab, Students have option to install on personal computers
- Past issues: software uses dynamic ports in firewall - check for FW ports being blocked if client software doesn't connect to license server
