Any student going to be absent from clinical or simulation due to illness or emergency must immediately phone and speak directly to the clinical instructor and notify them of the absence and reason for absence. If the student cannot speak directly to the clinical instructor prior to the start of clinical, the student should call the clinical agency unit at least 30 minutes before clinical begins and leave a message for the clinical instructor about the absence and how the instructor can contact the student. All scheduled clinical hours are mandatory. An excused absence will be granted in the following situations:
