If you qualify and are planning to live off-campus, you must email housing@unwsp.edu to process your commuter status.
Please review the University of Northwestern – St. Paul Housing Policy: All students who are seeking a Traditional Undergraduate degree, and are under the age of 21 as of the first day of classes of the Fall semester, are required to live in University housing the entire academic year. Students who are part-time (less than 12 credits, including both traditional undergraduate and undergraduate online learning credits), married, or living with one or both parents are exempt from this policy.
If you are under 21 but meet one of the three exemptions, you will be required to complete a Housing Exemption Agreement form provided to you by the Housing Office once we receive notice of your intentions. Please note: Living with relatives other than your parent(s) (i.e. aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, etc.) is not permitted under these exemption guidelines and you will be required to live on campus.
If you do not meet one of these three exemptions, you will be required to reside on campus.
Please email housing@unwsp.edu to begin the process of your commuting status. If you do not communicate your intentions to commute, you will be placed in on-campus housing.
