Overview


This article will tell you how to manage your bookmarks for all of the widely used browsers. These browsers include Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer. 


Google Chrome


Add a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to the site you want to visit again in the future.
  3. To the right of the address bar, click Star Star.

Find a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More Moreand then Bookmarks.
  3. Find and click a bookmark.

Tip: You can open bookmarks faster with the bookmarks bar. You’ll find your bookmarks under the address bar. Click a bookmark to open it. 

To turn the bookmarks bar on or off, click More Moreand then Bookmarks and then Show Bookmarks Bar.

Edit a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More Moreand then Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. To the right of a bookmark, click the Down arrow Down Arrowand then Edit.

Delete a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More Moreand then Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
  3. To the right of a bookmark, click the Down arrow Down Arrowand then Delete.

Mozilla Firefox 


Add a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to the site you want to visit again in the future.
  3. To the right of the address bar, click Star Star.

If the star is missing from the address bar, click on the Page actions (3-dot) menu button.

Right-click on the menu entry for Bookmark this Page and then click on Add to Address Bar.


Find a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.
  2. At the top right, click the library icon57 library icon
  3. Find and click a bookmark.

Edit a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.
  2. At the top right, click the library icon 57 library icon
  3. Find and click a bookmark.
  4. Click the star icon on the bookmarked page and you can edit the bookmark there.

Name: This is the name that Firefox displays for the bookmark in menus.

Folder: Choose what folder to store your bookmark in by picking one from the drop-down menu (for example, the Bookmarks Menu or Bookmarks Toolbar). In that drop-down menu you can also select Choose... to display a list of all bookmarks folders.

Tags: You can use tags to help you search through and organize your bookmarks. For more information, see Bookmark Tags - Categorize bookmarks to make them easy to find.

Delete a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Firefox.
  2. At the top right, click the library icon57 library icon
  3. Find and right-click a bookmark.
  4. Click Delete to remove the bookmark.

Safari 


Add a bookmark

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, go to the page you want to bookmark.

  2. Click the Share button  in the toolbar, then choose Add Bookmark.

  3. Choose where to add the bookmark, and rename it if you like.

    • Add this page to: Click the pop-up menu and choose a folder. The default is Favorites.

    • Rename the bookmark: Enter a brief name that will help you identify the webpage.

    • Add a description: Enter more details as an optional reminder about the webpage.

  4. Click Add.

Find a bookmark

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, click the Sidebar button  in the toolbar, then click the Bookmarks button .

  2. Enter the bookmark name in the search field at the top of the sidebar.

    You may have to scroll up to reveal the search field.

Manage bookmarks (edit and delete)

  1. In the Safari app  on your Mac, click the Sidebar button  in the toolbar, then click the Bookmarks button .

  2. Control-click a bookmark or folder.

  3. Choose from the shortcut menu to do one of the following:

    • Rename or edit a bookmark or folder.

      You can also force click the name, or click and hold the name until it’s highlighted and then enter a new one.

    • Edit a bookmark’s description.

    • Copy or delete a bookmark or folder.

    • Create a bookmark folder.

    • See detailed folder contents.

To edit a bookmark’s description, double-click a folder in the sidebar, then Control-click the item and choose Edit Description.

You can also manage bookmarks by choosing Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks.

Internet Explorer 


Add a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Internet Explorer
  2. Go to the site you want to visit again in the future. 
  3. To the right of the address bar, click StarStar.
  4. Click 'Add to Favorites'
  5. Click 'Add'
    1. Alternatively, press 'Ctrl + D' and click 'Add'

Find a bookmark

  1. On your computer, open Internet Explorer
  2. At the top right, click StarStar.

Manage bookmarks (edit and delete)

  1. On your computer, open Internet Explorer
  2. Go to the site you want to visit again in the future. 
  3. To the right of the address bar, click StarStar.
  4. Right-click on any bookmark to delete or rename.
  5. Right-click on any bookmark and select properties to edit the URL.

Microsoft Edge 


Add a bookmark

  1. Select the Add to favorites or reading listStarbutton.
  2. Rename the favorite if you want, and then select Add.

Find a bookmark

  1. On your computer, Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click   on the top right.
  3. Click Favorites

Manage bookmarks (edit and delete)

  1. On your computer, Open Microsoft Edge
  2. Click   on the top right.
  3. Click Favorites
  4. Right-click a bookmark to rename, edit the URL or delete the bookmark.
