Overview

You must disable the feature on your device that randomizes the MAC address (physical or hardware address) as this can prevent or invalidate your registration on the network. Please note that you will need to disable this for each network: UNW Wireless and Eagles.

Mobile Devices

iOS 18

New rotating MAC address feature will break Wi-Fi registration regularly.

 

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap on Wi-Fi. 

  2. Tap on the information button  next to the desired Wi-Fi network.

  3. Tap on the Private Wi-Fi Address setting to change it.

  4. Switch it to Off. A privacy warning may be displayed.

  5. To immediately switch to the original hardware MAC address, turn off Wi-Fi on the device and turn it back on. 

  6. If your device was not registered with the hardware MAC address, you may need to register once more.

 

iOS 14 through 17

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap on Wi-Fi. 

  2. Tap on the information button  next to the desired Wi-Fi network.

  3. Tap on the Private Wi-Fi Address toggle to turn it off. A privacy warning may be displayed.

  4. To immediately switch to the original hardware MAC address, turn off Wi-Fi on the device and turn it back on. 

  5. If your device was not registered with the hardware MAC address, you may need to register once more.

 

Android 10 and above

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Select Network and Internet.

  3. Select Wi-Fi.

  4. Connect to the UNW Wireless network.

  5. Tap the gear icon next to the current Wi-Fi connection.

  6. Select Advanced.

  7. Select Privacy.

  8. Select "Use device MAC"

  9. If your device was not registered with the hardware MAC address, you may need to register once more.


Desktop/Laptop

macOS 15 (Sequoia)

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap on Wi-Fi. 

  2. Tap on the information button  next to the desired Wi-Fi network.

  3. Tap on the Private Wi-Fi Address setting to change it.

Windows 10 & 11

To disable Random Hardware Address for all networks:

  1. Go to Settings and click Network & Internet.

  2. Click on the Wi-Fi tab.

  3. Switch the toggle for Random Hardware Address to Off.

  4. Restart your computer.

  5. If your device was not registered with the hardware MAC address, you may need to register once more.

 

To disable this feature for individual Wi-Fi networks:

  1. Go to Settings and click Network & Internet.

  2. Click on the Wi-Fi tab.

  3. Click on a network, such as UNW Wireless

    1. In Windows 11: Click Manage known networks

  4. Switch the dropdown for Random Hardware Address to Off.

  5. Repeat for Eagles network.

  6. Restart your computer.

  7. If your device was not registered with the hardware MAC address, you may need to register once more.
