The IT Student Knowledge Base is an online library that helps students with technology-related needs, offering guides and tutorials for troubleshooting and using campus resources. It also provides instructions for getting support from the IT Department, ensuring students can efficiently resolve their tech issues.

  • Monday-Thursday - 7:45 am to 7:30 pm

  • Friday - 7:45 am to 5:00 pm

IT Service Desk Services


  • Northwestern accounts and passwords

  • Campus network access, Internet connectivity, and telephone systems

  • Access to Email, Moodle, myUNW, and other Northwestern applications

  • PC and Mac troubleshooting*

  • Software/Application support or questions

* For all personal devices, we provide a "best effort" support policy up to 1 hour. Then will provide recommendations to get support from other reputable support services. 

Walk-in Services


The IT Service Desk provides the following services for free*:

  • Diagnosing hardware or software issues

  • Assisting with virus or malware removal

  • Password changes

  • Configuring email on mobile devices

  • Troubleshooting Wi-Fi / Internet connection issues

  • General questions
