Terminology
Teacher candidate/candidate: the senior university student who is teaching under supervision.
Cooperating teacher: the classroom teacher who is responsible for supervising the teacher candidate.
University supervisor: the university liaison who is responsible for supervising the teacher candidate.
Program coordinator: the university representative who is responsible for a specific licensure area.
Student: the person the teacher candidate teaches at any age/grade level.
Cooperating personnel: administrators, specialists, and teachers under whose direction the teacher candidate teaches.
Cooperating school/site: a public or private school/site in which the teacher candidate does supervised teaching.
Student teaching center: a school where a group of teacher candidates are placed for student teaching.
