2.01 Terminology

Teacher candidate/candidate: 

The senior university student teaching under supervision.

Cooperating teacher:  

The classroom teacher responsible for supervising the teacher candidate.

University supervisor:

The university liaison responsible for supervising the teacher candidate.

Program coordinator:

The university representative responsible for a specific licensure area.

Student:

The person the teacher candidate teaches at the given age/grade level.

Cooperating personnel:

Administrators, specialists, and teachers under whose direction the teacher candidate teaches.

Cooperating school/site:

A public or private school/site in which the teacher candidate does supervised teaching.
