Overview

Did you know that over a third of our traditional undergrad students are commuters? Commuter Life at UNW exists to serve commuter students through seeing, supporting, engaging, and connecting them with the greater Northwestern community. The Director of Commuter Life and student team of Commuter Assistants work hard to provide support for students who experience the unique challenges of living off-campus.  Stay up to date by following us on Instagram @unwcommuterlife.

Program/Support

Commuter students, we’re here for you! And we’re always up for connecting.  You’re invited to come find us in the Commuter Life office (G124 on the first floor of The Billy Graham Community Life Commons), where our student leaders, called Commuter Assistants, hold office hours throughout the week.  It's a great space to gather or study!  Or contact us anytime; we’d love to hear your ideas for Commuter Life or simply sit and hear what God is up to in your life!

Events

One of the ways we connect commuter students with each other and with other UNW students is through events.  Be sure to follow us on Instagram to stay updated on what we're planning for Fall 2021 and beyond.  Here's a list of some of the events we've hosted in the past:

  • Good Morning Commuters (Free coffee and donuts for commuters!)
  • Commuter outing to a MN United FC Soccer Match
  • Commuter outing to A Christmas Carol at The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis
  • Campfire, s'mores, and worship on the island on campus
  • Trivia Night
  • and more!
