Overview
Fellowship of Reconciling Cultures Everywhere (FORCE) is a student organization that strives to actively engage our community in an open atmosphere about cultures. It equips students to learn about their own culture while encouraging them to also learn about other cultures.
Program/Support
Multicultural and International Student Orientation
Multicultural and International Orientation will be held August 18th-20 (ending the morning of Aug 20 students will then attend/join General Orientation). The purpose of Multicultural/International Orientation is to give students an opportunity to build connections on campus and get oriented before the start of General Orientation.
Each student who attends Multicultural/International Orientation will be placed in a small group led by a Multicultural Mentors who are current students. The role of the Multicultural Mentor is to personally connect with new incoming students of color, international, and 3rd culture students at Northwestern. The purpose of mentors is to provide intentional discipleship for new students as they acclimate to a new social, academic, spiritual, and cultural environment on campus.
FORCE Annual Events
FORCE is about bringing the student body together and celebrating culture (where you come from!). Here are some of the ways you may see this happen on-campus. FORCE Fiesta (beginning of the school year “kick-off”), FORCE Christmas Dance, and Multicultural Festival.
FORCE Seasonal Events
FORCE plans weekly and monthly events that are more flexible in nature in order to highlight current events in our UNW community and society at large. FORCE strives to partner with other clubs and organizations to offer a wide variety of events consistent with FORCE’s vision to bring cultures together. Examples of seasonal events include Table Talks, Poetry Slam, and Open Mic Night.
