uniFLOW - Printer Driver Defaults

This article describes the default settings set for Northwestern Secure Print. It also describes how to change defaults and save your own printing profiles.

Default Driver Settings

Below are the default settings that are installed on all Northwestern computers.

  1. Duplex Mode

  2. Flip on Long Edge

  3. Black and White Only

The B/W only option only sends your job to uniFLOW in B/W. Even if your document is a color document, the color data is not sent to the printer. You cannot change this at the printer. To send a color job to uniFLOW, you must change this dropdown to Auto or Color.

Windows: Changing Default Settings

You can always change the default settings prior to printing depending on what you would like your print job to do. You may need to click More settings to open the advanced Printer Preferences.

Windows: Setting your own Profiles

    1. Simplex printing

    2. Flip on short edge (top)

    3. Staple on top left (with metal staple)

      1. Eco-stapling is available for print jobs with 5 or less pages per copy. Eco-stapling presses the pages together instead of using a metal staple.

    4. Color mode

  2. Notice how the preview window reflects the changes made

  3. These settings were saved and called “Example Profile” by clicking Add and naming the profile.

    1. “Example Profile” can now be selected from the dropdown on this computer whenever this profile is needed.
