3.2 Building Principal or Administrator

The building principal is responsible for general administrative oversight of the teacher candidate and for all necessary communication with the Director of Field Experiences and Student Teaching, university supervisor, cooperating teacher, and teacher candidate. The principal may be involved in the student teaching experience to the extent preferred at the principal's discretion. Participation may include:

• A tour of the building,
• Introduction to staff,
• Presentation of policies and procedures of the school,
• Observation and evaluation of the teacher candidate,
• Participation in discussion of problems that may arise between the teacher candidate and others,
• Discussions pertaining to job search practices and future interviewing.
