JMP 18 Student Edition - Activation

When launching JMP 18 Student Edition for the first time on a virtual desktop you will see the following dialogue box:

The reason for this pop-up is because JMP now requires a user to be logged into the application itself in order for it to work. Thankfully, JMP provides free access for students, provided that they sign up ahead of time on their website. The instructions below assume that you need to setup access for the first time.

Creating a JMP account

1. Visit https://my.jmp.com/jmpportal/ to create an account. Click the blue login button once the page loads.

2. Upon clicking Login you should see a similar screen. Click the ‘sign up’ button in the lower right corner:

3. Enter your first name, last name, and email to sign up for JMP:

4. A verification code will be sent to your email:

5. Enter the 6 digit verification code that you received in your email and click verify.

6. If successful you should receive a confirmation email as well:

Signing up for Student Edition

After creating an account, you need to do a few things to sign up for your free ‘student edition’ of JMP:

6. Visit https://store.jmp.com/student/ to set up your license access.

7. The upper right corner of the JMP store web page should show your name. If not, click the ‘sign in’ link in the upper right corner:

8. Once you are signed in, you should see the section where they ask more information about your courses. Fill in the questions as requested and click submit.

9. You will be redirected to federation.proxi.id. Click tbe blue Start button

   2. Instead of entering the university’s name, choose the option to ‘click here to verify by email’ instead:

   3. When prompted for your University email address, enter it and click ‘submit’

   4. After submitting, you should receive an email with a code. Take note of your verification code. In the email, click the “return to verification” app link, to go back into the web page where you will enter your code.

   5. After being brought back to the web page, click the ‘have a verification code’ link at the bottom of the page

       

   6. Enter your university email address, verification code (from the email) and click submit

   7. After clicking submit, you should be brought back to the JMP store and have 1 item in your checkout. Click ‘checkout’

   8. You will be prompted for your address. Enter this in and click ‘next’

   9. You will need to check the ‘I agree to terms’ box and click ‘place order’

   10. Lastly, you should receive an order confirmation:

1. You may recognize this pop-up the first time you try to launch JMP 18. Click OK.

2. Upon clicking OK, you will see the JMP login screen.

   1. Enter your email and click the blue sign-in button.

3. A verification code will be sent to your email:

   1. Take note of this verification code

4. Enter the 6 digit verification code that you received in your email and click verify.

5. The JMP app should now load:

Note: If you try opening the software too soon after acquiring it from the JMP Store, you may be informed that ‘no authorizations' are found. It can take 10+ minutes for permissions to be set in JMP after purchasing the product. You’ll need to try again later if you see the prompt below.

Downloads

If you want to download JMP to your personal computer, you can do so assuming that you are signed in to the JMP portal. If you are already signed in, just visit this link to download it for either mac or PC: https://my.jmp.com/jmpportal/s/download-jmp-student-edition
