11.13 Transcultural Trip Requirements
11.13 Transcultural Trip Requirements
Serving Transcultural Populations (NUR 3317) requires nursing students to complete 60 hours of clinical immersion in an international setting during Term 3 of the nursing program. International nursing experiences provide students with the ability to be a part of another culture, to talk with, work with, discuss beliefs, and observe healthcare workers in other parts of the world. These experiences help students increase their understanding of culture and its ability to affect healthcare. Students participating in the transcultural trip in Term 3 should have a valid passport available at the end of Term 1, not expiring within 6 months of the completion of the trip dates.
