11.2 BLS Requirements

Students admitted to the BSN program must provide current BLS certification upon admission and maintain certification until program completion. Specifically, students are required to provide documentation of valid, current, BLS certification from The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support (BLS), or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the student being unable to attend clinical and receive a clinical “Unsatisfactory” or “U” for each clinical day that is missed. If a student misses clinical, a clinical absence must be made up with the student accountable for costs.
