5.1 Requirements

All persons wishing to obtain licensure in any education field must complete the Human Relations component of the Teacher Education Program.  This preparation is required by the state of Minnesota. All institutions recommending individuals for licensure must provide Human Relations education.

It is intended that, through the Human Relations component, all those who are licensed to teach will be able to work with a variety of students in a positive and effective manner, showing respect for each student as unique and valuable and understanding each student's background and needs.

It is the responsibility of each student to complete the requirements and meet the deadlines set by the School of Education.
