11.4b Specific Uniform Requirements
Agency and Community uniforms, a white lab jacket, and stethoscope will be purchased and ordered through the School of Nursing. Other uniform equipment, accessories, shoes and clothing items are the responsibility of each student:
Clinical Equipment:
Stethoscope (provided by SON - Term1). Stethoscope covers (optional), must be black.
Watch with second-hand function
Penlight (provided by the SON - Term 1)
Black ink pen
Clothing and Shoes:
Tailored white lab jacket (Provided by SON)
Black sweater/black long sleeve tee (optional)
Agency (Hospital) Uniform (Provided by SON Term - 1)
Grey uniform top (Provided by SON Term - 1)
Black "scrub" pants (Provided by the student) must be all black, (including stitching) “scrub” pants, which cover the ankles, with the cuff falling 1 inch above the floor. Jogger style or leggings are not allowed. Pants must not be skin-tight, see-through, or revealing, and must allow for full range of motion.
Community Uniform
Grey Polo top (Provided by SON Term - 1)
Tailored black pants
Black socks/ intact; covering over ankle
Shoes
All shoes worn with SON uniforms must be completely black and considered professional nursing shoes. Shoes are to be kept clean and in good condition at all times. Reserve clinical shoes for use in clinical settings to reduce chances of spreading micro-organisms to other settings.
Shoes restrictions include the following, due to work safety issues:
No clogs, crocs, open-toed shoes, or sandals
No boots or ankle boots
No canvas shoes
No open-back shoes
